General Data Protection Regulation

The EU General Data Protection Regulation “GDPR” takes effect from 25th May 2018 across the European Union, replacing the Data Protection Act 1998.The European Commission has passed GDPR as a regulation to strengthen and unify data protection laws for EU.
The GDPR has been designed to meet the requirements of the digital age, and addresses the electronic transfer of personal data, and new regulations aim to standardise data protection laws and processing across the European Union, affording individuals stronger, more consistent rights to access and control their personal information.
Antiquarian Bookshop | Samota | Book Gallery has always had an effective data protection programme, which is consistent with existing legislation and follows the principles of data protection.
However, we recognise the requirement and importance of updating and expanding this programme to meet the demands of the GDPR and the Data Protection Act.
Information we may collect, store and use Personal details to send out our catalogues, and newsletters. Also any information to process an order, arrange a delivery, or return a puchase we have made. If we ask for your personal details for a reason beyond the above, we will ask you directly for your expressed consent. Any other information that you choose to send us, eg., details of specific books or areas of interest you wish us to hold.
We have revised our Privacy Policy to comply with the GDPR, ensuring that all individuals whose personal information we process have been informed of why we need it, how it is used, what their rights are, who the information is disclosed to, and what safeguarding measures are in place to protect their information.
If you have any questions about this, please contact Stanislav Jordan. Any future amendments to this policy will appear on this page.
